What stood out most was the consistency and professionalism.

It felt like they truly cared about doing the job right, not just getting it done. Walking into a clean, fresh home after their visit made a noticeable difference.

Highly recommend Molly Maid to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality cleaning you can count on every time.

I'm writing this more as a tip to Molly Maids than a review to the public.

AI Highlights
  • Appointment for an estimate; call on arrival, but intercom doesn't work.
  • A car arrived for the appointment; no one got out and I waited 10 minutes.

I had an appt. for someone to come and give me an estimate to clean my apt.

When I made the appointment, I told them to call me on my landline when they got here and I would let them in.

There is an intercom system in my building; however mine doesn't work.

My appointment was for 11 a.m. At 10:45 I decided to go to the lobby to meet the person and that way they would not have to call me. At 11 a.m. a car drove into the parking lot.

I did not see it at first but there was another tenant in the lobby and he said someone just pulled in. I could not see anything but a car. I don't know who was driving or if this person was from Molly Maids. I waited in the lobby for the person to get out of the car and enter the building but after waiting 10 minutes, I went up to my apartment.

No one got out of the car. I use a walker and I wasn't going to go roaming the parking lot to see who was in the car.

I would suggest that when an estimator is going to someone's house, the estimator should at least come to the door. Someone else came to the building and I asked that person if they saw any advertising on the car that just pulled in and she said she didn't notice.

I would also suggest that if Molly Maids is calling someone, the name Molly Maids should appear on the caller ID. How would anyone know Molly Maids by any other name.

I guess I had my doubts about the place when I made the appointment because the last thing written was call them if there was anything else I wanted them to know.

Then, my phone number was given as the local office. I told them about it and they corrected it but like I say, it gave me pause.

User's recommendation: Be sure you have and know all the pertinent information and that it is correct.

Very disappointing

Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience. Molly Maid charged me $ 260 for the cleaning of a small studio and left dirty dishes, a clogged kitchen sink, a huge garbage bag inside the unit, did not even open the refrigerator, left food left overs in the refrigerator, obviously did not clean the refrigerator, cleaned for about just 2 hours, did not do any laundry, exorbitant pricing and very very poor service.

When I called to complain they gave me $ 25 discount!!! Never again.

User's recommendation: do not pay the price they charge, it's ridiculous

  • Two cleaners arrived and left, claiming they were too good to clean.
  • Reviewer blames business owners and won't pay for perceived slackers.

Two women showed up, walked around, decided that they were too "good" to clean. In my opinion, and I am being honest, I feel sorry for these women, having to work when their lazy-ass husbands are laying around or are in jail, but the bottom line...I want my house cleaned...it is not their fault, the problem is the slack business owners...

as far as i am concerned, the business owners are at fault!...let the business owners live in filth, lazy *** jerks! I will not pay for a bunch of slackers!

Using a stolen front door key, they ran some kind of a business in my wife’s office. After termination they attempted entry through the front door but locks had been changed.

The police came and took a report, but there was no follow-up investigation. I have subsequently learned that this type of activity is common in the Coachella Valley, California.

I paid them almost $400 to dust all windows and blinds, ceiling fans, and bookcases, all the things the woman I emailed and spoke to on the phone promised me. They didn't move any furniture to get under it to dust and I have photos of the front room window they only did half and never bothered to do the rest!

Lazy, price gouging, and they didn't send me photos as I asked when I spoke to the woman cleaning the house. They were also late and never apologized for the additional stress and inconvenience and I have filed a dispute with my bank and two months later still don't have my $350 back for a 3-hour supposed to be 'deep cleaning'. They are in Clear Lake and NASA area. Don't trust these frauds.

The lady cursed at me and hung up when I showed the photos. If they were honest and reputable, they would have refunded me half or all but they stole my time and money! Learn English or leave this country!

I'm fed up with this! Stay away!

Original review Jan 04, 2025

We hired Molly Maids (Denver) for a move out clean. The night before we were still in the process of packing things.

The maids got there and I guess were already upset because they were working on a Saturday. My 23 year old was there and heard the lady say they got me Fed up if they think Im cleaning all day, then they stayed in one of the rooms for an hour and a half just talking.

They then went into the second bedroom and started throwing our things out of there including my grandmas ashes! Most unprofessional, unpleasant experience ever!!

No movement as Molly Maid has not responded to requests.

Original review Feb 26, 2024
I hired Molly Maid of North County to come every other week. When the estimator came we went over the details of how I want our house cleaned every other week.

She even wrote it on the contract I had to sign as this is how she based the bi-weekly cost for them to clean. They required me to have the deep cleaning for the first time which they charge per hour and came out to over $700 for the 1st cleaning. Time comes for the cleaning they missed a lot even on the first cleaning. When the 2nd cleaning came the 3 girls that came to clean our house were huddled in each room talking away rather than cleaning; I guess they never believed in "divide and conquer" nor had time management skills.

I work from home and on a Zoom call constantly they were so loud. They came for about 2 hours for a $274 cleaning charge. They not only had missed a lot of things that were written on the contract even as petty as taking the trash out which should be an automatic thing to do when cleaning they rushed out. You would think 3 maids would be able to do what is in the scope of work written on the contract.

When I called the office their office manager answered, I asked if she read the email I sent her a week ago, and she said she had not read my email yet. She said she'll read it and get back to me. After 5 minutes she called me back and said I read your email, and it seems like we are not the right fit for you. I was trying to explain to her that the email I sent was to remind them to make sure those items are addressed for when they come next time.

She didn't even give me a chance and just flat-out kept on interrupting me and wouldn't even let me get a word or two. The bottom line they took over $700 on the initial cleaning then took another $274 to just do a subpar cleaning and ignored what we talked about. I pointed to her that the contract had stated the scope of work and that's how it was based on how much they would charge me the Manager came back with a very rude, almost yelling attitude to me and said they don't have to follow what is on the contract I was given. I was shocked as what was on the contract was the scope of work and what was the basis of the cost they would charge.

Very frustrated right now. When I tried to call the corporate office no one answered the phone and when I left a voicemail message no one returned my message either.

Do yourselves a favor, save the headache and money, and do not hire this company as they will over-promise and never do the actual work they said they would do. I wish I could rate this company with a negative star, but it is not an option.

Molly Maid - Cleaning was a disaster

I was charged $289 for a first time cleaning. Our laminate floors were left wet and a white film of their cleaning product was left on the floor.

The floors were sticky to walk on. Also, swirl abrasions on the floors. A white film was also on our black stove top. Cobwebs on overhead light, dust in corners.

Hair on bathroom vanity. They wanted to send another crew for a do-over, but we refused. I feel if it can't be done first time, don't want them back. I asked for a refund.

I was told it would be $50. It was $47 because I was charged a $3 convenience fee!!!

I would never use this company again and will file a report to BBB.

Offices involved were from Livonia and Birmingham, MI. Horrible, horrible company.

I was overcharged for work that was worse than worthless.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • Charged over $300 with no prior estimate.
  • Work was incomplete, counters rearranged, and items above floor level disappeared.

My credit card was charged more than $300 for a one-time cleaning. The first time I ever heard or saw that figure was when my credit card was charged; i.e., no estimate given beforehand, no information from the maids.

Of course, I can't get even a partial refund because it's not their "policy" to provide for this. When the maids arrived at the front door, I first showed them the carpet a few feet from there, which had an area of stains about 2' by 4', and told them our top priority was to get rid of it. After they left, about half the area had been left untouched. My second most important request was to leave counters as they were because we wanted to be able to find things where we had left them.

The best I could think of to express this, inasmuch as I am not fluent in Spanish, was to say emphatically, while gesturing parallel to the floor: "Leave everything above floor level just as it is!" They rearranged everything on the kitchen bar and counters and on both bathroom counters and I had to waste almost two hours the next day trying to find the items we regularly use. About a dozen things had disappeared, including body wash, toothpaste, and at least one bottle of medicine. These were all above floor level--on the cabinets, the living room shelves, the showers, etc. I stayed in the office, not wanting to look over their shoulders and kibbitz.

They hadn't told me how long they expected their work to take, and then left without giving me any chance to inspect the work. They left only a negligible part of the area untouched, the way I had requested. Immediately outside my office were scuffs on the tile floor. I pointed them off, but they kept going, and when I called after them "Is it okay with you folks to leave areas on the floor dirty?" One of them loudly called out, over her shoulder, "Your house too beeg."

So, to summarize, they gave me no idea how much money this was going to cost me; they did next to nothing that they were supposed to do and did plenty of things they were not supposed to do.

And then one of them gave me attitude.

It should go without saying that my wife and I absolutely will not waste another penny with Molly Maid. The "work" (a term I use loosely) those two were paid to do was not simply worthless; it was much worse than that.

Loss:
$303

User's recommendation: Don't pay for any work unless you see an example of it.

Poor cleaning and no recourse

AI Highlights
  • Hired Molly Maids for a deep clean before company.
  • They left dirt on floors, mirrors, sinks, toilets, and counters.
  • They would not refund the $260 plus tip.

I hired Molly Maids for a deep clean prior to having company. It was the worse cleaning job I have ever had!

What did they leave dirty? floors, mirrors, sinks, toilets, furniture, counters, etc. I took pictures of the dirt that was not cleaned, sent them to MM, and was told they would come back out and make it good. Unfortunately, I was not going to be home the next two days, and then my company was arriving.

They WOULD NOT give me a refund (I paid them $260 plus I gave the girls a tip--not realizing what they had left undone.) They should be ashamed for not giving me a refund as I had to clean the house myself before my company arrived. I would not recommend MM as they gave me no reasonable option to recover the money I wasted on their service (or lack thereof.)

Pros:
  • See above

User's recommendation: Use another company.

BEWARE! Company is a scam and will not support their customer.

Worse service EVER!! Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT USE THE COMPANY. I spent $200+ to have my downtown luxury highrise penthouse cleaned and they did not fully clean it at all. Very disturbing!

I immediately called the office to advise, sent proof of multiple photos and was called a liar - the office manager specifically said "My cleaners have been with us a long time and it's hard to believe that those stains were left". I've sent multiple photos and the response is that it is hard to believe. Very unprofessional! The actual Cleaners were unkind and had attitudes the entire time.

I have cancelled my multiple properties from this company. Their behavior is truly unprofessional. They cannot come out and re clean due to they have "other" obligations. So I wasted money on a half clean.

A RIP OFF!!! Do not HIRE them - they will steal your money and won't clean your home and call you a liar. The entire staff is un professional.

I requested to speak with the owner and they cannot contact them until the next day. Unbelievable.
